Firstly I'd contact them, as they sold it to you and they should therefore be helping sort things out!
(Sorry, not meaning to be git-ish, but lots of these companies are selling things for profit that have been developed and released as open source - which is fine, but if they're doing that they should absolutely be supporting their customers!)
One rule of thumb though, when troubleshooting start with the machine being as vanilla as possible - that means removing things like the sideways RAM board. Each additional thing adds more potential sources of problems into the equation and you want to minimise those as far as possible.
