As I say, I don't have a scope, so can't do the detailed checks.
Ive had the ULA out for IPA cleaning, surface chip check and socket clean and checks. The expected 5v and board connectivity traces to the ULA socket spring pins all check out ok.
My reasoning was nothing more than YouTube 'research', and seeing multiple people working through:
visible checks
cap visual checks
power board in / out checks
main board +, 0, - volt checks to pins
and the osc check
(some more checks after that also, but ive stopped there as ive now seen a failed test / cannot test in depth (no scope))
With my multimeter on hz mode, I just see OL (overload) - which is what I see when checking ground (board screw / 0v rail) to oscillate leg, which then made me suspect the osc.
Unfortunately, I get nothing at power on. No beep, no picture (composite out into a vga adapter), no LED lit (next to caps lk fun)
What can you suggest for my next steps to diagnose why this Elk won't power up?
