Hello,
I have two single sided 80 track Cumana Floppy drives connected to my BBC Micro that used to work perfectly well till a few month ago.
One day, disk0 refused to load the programs that it had loaded the day before. I tried the other drive with the same result. I thought that may be the floppy disk was dead so I took another one but it failed in the same way: The head stay stuck on track 0 and turns endlessly
I cleaned up the head of both drives with IPA but it did not solve anything
Today, I have received a new box of 5.25" floppies. I tried to format it but it failed again.
I tried to replace the flat cable, still no change: The head stay stuck on track 0
Are both of my drives dead? Is there a way I can repair them?
I also tried a 1.2MB floppy from a PC and it does not work either: (but may be this drive is incompatible with my 8271 Floppy disc controller)
Are there any recommendations on what to do now?
