Thanks, that's just the kind of experimentation I was going to try, sounds like it's probably not worth it as this seems fairly definitive to meI put an ATF1508ASV on an electron cartridge and was never able to get the chip even correctly detected over JTAG, so it would seem 5v inputs damage it very quickly indeed!I've not seen anything to make me believe the ASV parts are 5V tolerant. In early versions of the datasheet there were references to VCCIO of 5V, but those are gone in the latest version, and were probably cut-and-paste errors.
