from your other thread (Decoding 9's complement properly... - stardot.org.uk) - are you working with the original data files? Did you transcribe them, or have you found a good source? If so, please share!

(I've been sitting on a Hershey project of my own for over a decade, and I should really kickstart it again)
Was working from the original report, of the late 1960's which was transcribed on wikisource ( ). That report contains the rasterisation Data for a subset of the 3000 or more glyphs, the 'Hershey' characetr set came to be regarded as. There is also a Japanese set (whose data doesn't seem to be easily online.).

The Symbol set seems to reflect those used in specific typographical and cartographic applications of the mid 1960's, hence there are some symbols you might expect to find that are not in the data. (You might want to add a Euro or pound(currency) symbol for example.).
