I have a tidy A3000 here that was working perfectly which i purchased and imported from CJE Micro's at no small cost...shipping was very expensive but I struggled to find one locally. A very well packaged and very very tidy machine turned up and I was so happy. It worked perfectly and that wonderful feel of my childhood typing on that marvelous keyboard brought back so many memories. my games still worked and most importantly my Original copy of Thundermonk!

However one day i turned it on and it flashes pink(purple?) then blue, continues to boot to a diagonal scrolling(bottom left to towards top right) supervisor screen. sometimes i get a red screen at the end when i press down on cmos chip so this does change something. I cannot read what is on the screen even with horizontal control slowing it down as much as I can. I don't get any flashes from floppy drive light and power light appears to me as though it is not as bright as it used to be. The battery has been replaced by CJE Micros before i bought it about 4 years ago. It is a Riscos 3.11 machine with ram and no other addons.

Things i have tried from what i have read on here and other sites. I have done hold R or delete on boot up and get the reset post test but no change. I also replaced the cmos chip as I was also led to suspect this. the replacement was the same result so replaced back to the chip that came in the machine. (it has been socketed so it is easy to change) Caps/num/scroll lock lights to not toggle when pressed either ( I am suspecting the earlier test of pressing delete or r while booting was a waste of time if the keyboard is not working. Keyboard connectors appear to be in very good condition with no excessive wear on the contacts. I also tried removing the ram expansion but that made no difference either.

any possible pointers or directions to go from here would be greatly appreciated. I am in New Zealand so it is not practical to send back to CJE for any repairs. If there is anyone in New Zealand that could recommend someone in the east of the north island that could help me.

Thanks in advance
Matt
