Have a look in the README about the following and see if that helps if you have permission issues:

*NETCONFIG <+/->ACORNHOME*NETCONFIG <+/->ACORNDIR

That's setting the functionality of the file server functionality, not the networking functionality, so they really should be *FSsomething not *NETsomething.

Indeed - I removed (for brevity) part of the post that said that they had been replaced in v2.2-dev with equivalent *FSCONFIG commands (but I think the old one has been retained for compatibility…) - I did take note last time someone (you?) said that
