That is part of the Display Data Channel suite of protocols, specifically DDC2B, which provides an EDID payload to describe the capabilities of the monitor. However, DDC wasn't around when the A5000 came out, and as the DDC article indicates, various ID pin schemes were in use instead.It's been many years since looknig at it but they can have some i2C type comms to identify the monitor correctly.
