32-bit acorn hardware • Acorn mouse repairs

Hi,

I had several Acorn mice where one axis was not working properly. Based on viewtopic.php?t=26832 and other threads, I bought some Kingbright KM-4457F3C side infrared emitting diodes.

This has fixed one mouse! :-D

It has not fixed the others.

1: Attachment PH15

This had both axes failed, so I replaced both LEDs. It only 'judders' on the spot about 1 pixel now. Does that suggest a failure elsewhere?

2: Attachment PG15

This had a failed horizontal axis. I have replaced the LED, but I get the same juddering horizontally. (Vertically it's fine.) So, the same question.

3: Attachment: Small_board

I have three with a small circuit board. One was fixed with a new LED.

On another, I tried replacing the LEDs, but without realising they are connected differently. This one no longer has any movement in the axes, so I don't know what I've done. (Connected it with the computer on? I know I was never supposed to do that...)

For the other, only the horizontal axis has failed. Do I need to do this: viewtopic.php?p=295383#p295383 or is there a better way?

Thanks!
