I also got it to do this once instead of the normal kernel startup display. Bizarre...

I've had that error on a real Arc (A310) with RISC OS 3.11 and duplicated it in Arculator -- RISC iX can't cope if the monitor type is set to auto, setting it to a specific mode and it works.
