Bit late, but it is possible to use high density 1.44mb disks on an A3000.
No. Well, "yes", but my attempt failed. Others have had success, with modded floppy drives. And you need a special version of the 1772 drive controller chip that's happy at 16MHz. Basically no. Machines after A3000, such as A3010, A3020, A4000, A5000, A4, A7000, RiscPC, all have HD drives as standard tho.
