Agree and joining the ABUG Zoom meetings is good for inspiration ...... at least that's how it works for me .....Do be aware that you don't have to work in a vacuum! Perhaps you prefer the challenge of figuring things out on your own but there are plenty of coders around here to bounce ideas around with, who would be happy to share tips and insight - some, even overly so...yes it has been a long time I have been fighting the hardware to do what I want and I think I am starting to get some fruits out of my labour.
But yeah, sometimes it's just good to talk these problems out in the open and, once you actually reread what you've written, it can become obvious what the solution should be
