You are unlikely to damage your Beeb, both RS423 and RS232 interfaces should be able to withstand most cabling errors. The output drivers used in the Beeb have short circuit protection. As do all good RS232 driver chips. The most important thing is to ensure that the correct 0V/ground/GND pins are connected correctly.I'm going to make a cable to try and connect my retrowifi modem (pictured) to my beeb (I have the cabling parts for RS423->RS232/DB9->Modem), but is there any chance I might damage the beeb if I mess up the cabling order please?
The domino five pin connector on the Beeb can go in two different ways. Getting it the wrong way just means that communication won’t work.
RetroClinic may be able to help. His email address is on his website. Finally is there anywhere I can purchase a power cable harness to power both my GoTek & 5.25" Floppy drive from the beeb's accessory power port (both at the same time, I have one for just GoTek) please?
