Well, I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I finally got around to getting the A3000 onto the bench and taking the cover off. On removing the case, the left speaker was loose and the remains of a small case coloured plastic post dropped out, along with a couple of dead flies...
On first inspection with the case off, things look pretty clean.
Of course, the next step was to take a look under the keyboard and see how bad the green is... Not pretty, but compared to photos I've seen of other A3000 motherboards, it doesn't look terrible.
I had an external floppy drive (haven't found it yet, may be long gone) and here is the expansion board for that:
Finally, a nice surprise I hadn't remembered, but apparently is has a 1MB RAM expansion card too:
So, next step will be to disconnect the floppy drive and get the board out so can see get the battery off and see what state the rear of the board is in. Then I'll switch the power supply over to 110V and see if we have power (with it disconnected from the board of course).
